One interesting thing about slope game is how quickly players become competitive with themselves. Even if there are no multiplayer battles happening directly, people constantly try to beat their own high scores. A player who reaches a certain score once will usually keep retrying just to surpass it by a few more points. This simple progression system is surprisingly effective at maintaining long-term engagement.
